Solo literature is limited, but the three standards are Haydn, Hummel, & Neruda. If the D side is pretty good, work on the orchestral repertoire of Handel, Purcell, & Bach (Mass in B, Water Music, Fairy Queen, etc.)You can also try the Bartok Concerto lớn for Orchestra on it--that lichồng in the first trumpet fits nicely on E-flat, but I think many people use a larger horn (or an E3L-4 with a larger bell).A fair number of brass quintet works Call for E-flat trumpet, but they"re usually pretty challenging. If you"re just getting started, play what you"d play when you get a B-flat or a C... Clarke, Arban, Schlossberg, Irons, Caruso, etc. (pichồng those that apply to you).Forgive me for asking, but if you"re inexperienced, why"d you get an E-flat/D trumpet? From your signature, it looks like you have sầu some playing under your belt....

Sorry for not being clear. I have sầu lots of playing under my belt, orchestral & comercial. I have sầu never played or owned an Eb/D trumpet. I know there will not be much ocation lớn use it. The price was very low for a very good condition & nice playing instrument.

I could not pass it up. I love the sound of the Eb/D. And I believe some lit will be easier lớn play than my Bb or C.Thank you for your responses._________________All Bach Strad AFM 60-471Phi Mu Alpha

The Wallace-Head wedding music books include D trumpet parts. Not a bad place to start.HTH - Don_________________"After silence, that which best expresses the inexpressible, is music" - Aldous Huxley

I lượt thích lớn play the Ravel Piece en forme de Habanera on eefer....lays nicely and has just the right shimmer to lớn the sound for it!!Also, I know some guys that actually play the Arutunian on it too. I have sầu a copy of a handwritten part already transposed. It"s interesting...I don"t think I"d bởi in on e-flat, but some folks bởi (& vị it very well)._________________-----------------------------------------------------------------Dr. Louie Eckhardt, trumpeterhttp://www.LouieEckhardt.comAssistant Professor of MusicHastings College

There is plenty of Baroque era solo work that is in D or Eb besides the 3 listed above. Handel, Hertel, Albinoni, Michael Haydn, Telemann, Martini, Fasch, Moulter- almost an endless supply. Most of us probably choose to lớn play the majority on pic in A or Bb, however, at least I vày. There are also quite a few instances in the standard brass quintet repertoire that have written Eb parts.
